Coach Anthony Carlyle is the 2023-2024 Assistant Principal for Yazoo City High School. He is a native of Yazoo City.  He is a 2003 graduate of Yazoo County High School.  He received his Associates Degree in Physical Education at Holmes Community College in 2005 before going on to The University of Southern Mississippi and receiving a B.S. in Health Education/Coaching in 2007.  He later obtained his Masters of Education from Belhaven University in 2013. He also received his Specialists in Ed Leadership at Arkansas State in 2019. Coach Carlyle has 15 years in education.  During that time he has served in the capacity of Physical Education and Assistant Athletic Director at Velma Jackson High School and Columbus High School.  While working at Yazoo City High School, he served as the Athletic Director for two years before his current role as Assistant Principal.  Carlye enjoys coaching his basketball teams which have won six state championships at different schools with the most recent in 2023 at Yazoo City High School.  Away from his career, Coach enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
